EDWARD J. WOLF, M.D., FACP, FACG,
Dr. Edward Wolf received a B.A. from Columbia University in 1976 and an M.D. from S.U.N.Y. Downstate in 1980, Magna Cum Laude. He completed the Internal Medicine Residency Program at the Bronx Municipal Hospital Center and went on to a fellowship in Gastroenterology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital.
His special interests in Gastroenterology include Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Colon Cancer Screening, Esophageal Disorders, Hepatitis and therapeutic endoscopy. He has been a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society since 1980 and is also a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology as well as a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.
Dr. Wolf is Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.
TODD D. HELLER, M.D., FACP, FACG, FASGE, GASTROENTEROLOGY
Dr. Todd Heller is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Yeshiva University and its Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He did his Internal Medicine residency at Montefiore Hospital and his fellowship in Gastroenterology at St. Luke’s Hospital. Dr. Heller came to Baltimore in 1989 to join Dr. Edward Wolf, forming what now is Woodholme Gastroenterology Associates.
While enjoying all fields of Gastroenterology, Dr. Heller has a particular interest in inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis), interventional biliary endoscopy, and liver disease. A Fellow of the American College of Physicians and American College of Gastroenterology, Dr. Heller is Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.
LOC T. LE, M.D., FACP, FACG,
Dr. Loc T. Le graduated from Union College in Schenectady, New York, Magna Cum Laude, with a degree in Mathematics and Biology in 1984. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in Rochester, New York in 1988. Dr. Le completed his Internship and Residency at the Sinai Hospital/Johns Hopkins Hospital Internal Medicine Residency Program.
While at Sinai Hospital he received the Best Resident of the Year Award in 1991. He did his Gastroenterology Fellowship at the Medical College of Virginia where he received extensive training in therapeutic gastrointestinal endoscopy and hepatology.
His special interest is ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography). A member of the American College of Gastroenterology and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. Dr. Le is Board Certified in Gastroenterology.
Loc T. Le, MD has been elected as Chairperson of the 2012-2014 National Task Force on Hepatitis B: Focus on Asian and Pacific Islander Americans. He is a former Chairman of the Division of Gastroenterology and Director of Endoscopy at Harbor Hospital of Baltimore (July 1998-July 2004).
He holds the ranks of Assistant Professor of Medicine, University of Maryland School of Medicine and was instructor in Medicine, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. As a teaching faculty member at Sinai Hospital and Harbor Hospital, he received the Golden Apple “Best Teacher of Year” Awards twice, in 1996 and 1998.
LILA TARMIN, M.D., FACP, FACG, AGAF,
Dr. Lila Tarmin graduated from Barnard College and Georgetown Medical School. She completed a Residency in Internal medicine at Georgetown University Hospital and a Fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Maryland.
Dr. Tarmin’s research in gastro- intestinal oncology and inflammatory bowel disease has appeared in a number of professional journals. She has a personal interest in colon cancer screening, irritable bowel syndrome and treatment of obesity. A Fellow of the American College of Physicians, Dr. Tarmin is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.
MICHAEL S. SIUTA, M.D.,
Dr. Michael Siuta was born and raised in Baltimore County. After graduating from the University of Virginia in 1986, he returned to Baltimore to attend the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He received his Doctor of Medicine in 1990, and remained at University of Maryland Hospital for a residency in Internal Medicine. An additional year was spent on faculty in the Department of Medicine.
Dr. Siuta completed a three-year Fellowship in Gastroenterology at the Medical College of Virginia in 1997. In addition to training in gastroenterology and hepatology, he received additional training in nutrition. During his first year he completed a Fellowship in Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy and was the Chief Fellow.
He is Board Certified in Gastroenterology. Professional interests include interventional biliary endoscopy, nutrition, colorectal cancer pathogenesis, and gastroesophageal reflux disease.
ERNEST TSAO, M.D., FACG,
Dr. Tsao earned his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine. He completed an internal medicine internship and residency program at Stony Brook University Medical Center in 2004. He continued his training at Stony Brook with a fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
Dr. Tsao is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He now holds the rank of clinical assistant professor at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Dr. Tsao was given the 2008 Golden Apple award at Harbor Hospital for outstanding teaching. His research on gastrointestinal disorders has been published in peer-reviewed journals, and he is the recipient of several academic awards and honors.
Dr. Tsao’s professional interests include colorectal cancer, upper digestive tract cancer, esophageal disorders, interventional biliary endoscopy and hepatology. He is based at Woodholme GI’s Severn office on 802 Landmark Drive #129, Glen Burnie. He and his wife, Anna, reside in Ellicott City.
STEVEN EPSTEIN, M.D.,
Dr. Steven Epstein was born and raised in Baltimore. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Union College in Schenectady, New York and received his M.D. degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Maryland and his gastroenterology fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia where he received training in diagnostic and interventional endoscopy as well as hepatology.
Dr. Epstein is a member of the American Gastroenterology Association, the American College of Gastroenterology, and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. His special interests include inflammatory bowel disease, gastro-intestinal cancers, and therapeutic endoscopy.
ERIC BLUM, M.D., M.S.,
Dr. Eric Blum was born and raised in Pikesville, Maryland. He graduated with highest honors from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia in 1998 and received his M.D. degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 2002. He completed his internal medicine residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri in 2005, followed by his gastroenterology fellowship at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio in 2009. While in Cleveland, Dr. Blum also received his M.S. in clinical research.
Dr. Blum is a member of the American Gastroenterology Association, the American College of Gastroenterology, and the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America. His special interests include Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, and microscopic colitis (lymphocytic/collagenous colitis), but welcomes any patient with gastrointestinal problems.
Dr. Blum is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He is based at Woodholme’s Landmark office.
KENOLISA ONWUEME, M.D., PHD,
Dr. Kenolisa (Keno) Onwueme draws on a broad analytical skill set developed over 15 years of life-sciences research and from clinical experience in varied environments. He graduated with Distinction from Yale University with dual BSc/MSc degrees in chemistry and received MD and PhD degrees from Weill Cornell Medical College. He completed internal medicine residency at Harvard Medical School’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital and then gastroenterology fellowship at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His scientific research has been recognized with numerous honors and publications.
Dr. Onwueme prizes commitment to quality and compassionate patient care and has been commended by peers and patients alike for this attribute. He has expert knowledge in gut microbiology infections and special interests in diarrhea, constipation, disordered gut motility, autoimmune and inflammatory bowel disease.
His professional memberships include: American Gastroenterology Association, American College of Gastroenterology, American Medical Association and The Global Health Council. He co-founded Obala Foundation, a non-profit organization improving healthcare delivery in West Africa and enjoys soccer and bicycling.
ELLIOT SCHWARZENBERGER , M.D.,
Dr. Elliot Schwarzenberger joins our team from Queens, New York. He received his bachelor of arts degree from Yeshiva University graduating Magna Cum Laude. He obtained his M.D. degree at Stony Brook University School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine internship and residency at Beth Israel Medical Center. He followed with a fellowship in gastroenterology at Downstate Medical Center at Long Island College Hospital.
His interests include all areas of gastroenterology and hepatology. Of particular interest is hepatitis, inflammatory bowel disease and colon cancer prevention. In addition, much of his training was devoted to management of diarrhea and constipation. His research on complications of liver disease has been published in a peer-review journal.
ARJUN VAID, M.D., MRCP,
Dr. Arjun Vaid obtained his medical degree from the Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research, Pondicherry-one of the premier medical schools in India. He trained in Internal Medicine at the South West St. George’s University Hospital Program in London, United Kingdom, and graduated as a Member of the Royal College of Physicians(MRCP). After moving to the United States, he completed his internship and residency in internal medicine through Tuft’s University School of Medicine, at Steward St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center. On completion of his residency, he worked as a Chief Medical Resident for a year and was actively involved in medical education. He then Completed his fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
His interests include all areas of gastroenterology and hepatology with special emphasis on complications of liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease and colon cancer prevention. Apart from presentations in a number of national gastroenterology meetings, his research on artificial liver support systems has been published in a peer-reviewed journal.
Dr. Vaid is a member of the American Gastroenterology Association, the American College of Gastroenterology and The American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
CALVIN PARKER, III, M.D.,
Dr. Calvin Parker was born and raised in Baltimore, MD. He joins our team after serving honorably for 12 years as a Physician for the US Army. In 1995, he obtained his Bachelor’s of Science Degree from Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA. He later earned his M.D. degree at the Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, DC in 2004, after which time he was commissioned as an Officer in the US Army. Dr. Parker’s Internal Medicine Residency and gastroenterology/hepatology Fellowship training were done at Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Augusta, GA and Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX respectively. In addition to general gastroenterology, he also received training in advanced endoscopic procedures in the field of interventional biliary endoscopy and has published several case reports.
Dr. Parker is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology and the National Medical Association. His practice style revolves around a patient centered approach fostering the physician-patient partnership in the effort to preserve health and correct pathology.
Dr. Parker’s professional interests include, but are not limited to, interventional biliary endoscopy, hepatology, inflammatory bowel disease, colorectal cancer, and esophageal disorders. In his spare time, he enjoys a robust fitness centered lifestyle with his wife and four sons.
Weiming Ryan Yan, MD, PhD
Weiming Ryan Yan, M.D., Ph.D., is a board-certified physician who specializes in gastroenterology. Dr. Yan completed his Doctor of Philosophy in molecular genetics and microbiology at the University of Florida and his Doctor of Medicine from Ohio State University. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Georgetown University Hospital and his fellowship in gastroenterology at West Virginia University.
Dr. Yan prides himself on patient-centered care and positive outcomes. He has a strong interest in colorectal cancer prevention and in treating those with gastroesophageal reflux disease, Barrett’s esophagus, clostridium difficile infection, inflammatory bowel disease and irritable bowel syndrome.

DENESE A GAUGHAN, CRNP
Denese Gaughan, CRNP received a BS in Nursing from University of Maryland in 1993. She went on to earn her Masters in Nursing degree from University of Maryland School of Medicine Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program in 2000.
Ms. Gaughan attends patients at Northwest Hospital in addition to working in Pikesville.
JAMES D. SHAFFER, PA-C
James D. Shaffer, PA-C received a BA from Pennsylvania State University. He continued his education at Lock Haven University in Pennsylvania, earning a Masters of Health Science Degree and a certificate as a Physician Assistant.
James attends patients with Dr. Wolf at the Pikesville and Severn offices, he also has privileges at Sinai and Northwest Hospitals.
He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA).

Christina Fang, CRNP, received her BA in Biology from Washington University in St. Louis. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing from Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. Ms. Fang is a Certified Registered Adult Nurse Practitioner.

Inna Bardoff, CRNP received her BS in Community Health from The University of Maryland, College Park. She obtained her Master of Science and RN licensure after completing studies at The University of Maryland School of Nursing. She went on to earn her Masters in Nursing from The George Washington School of Nursing and is a Certified Adult Nurse Practitioner.

Moncheri Adebayo, CRNP received her BS in Nursing from The University of Maryland School of Nursing. Pamela J. Isabel graduated from Penn State University with both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Healthcare Administration. After graduation Pamela spent 4 years in Guatemala and Ecuador with the Peace Corps.
