Dr. Damodar Pandey was born in the beautiful Himalayan country, Nepal, and completed his medical school from Rangpur Medical College (Rajshahi University), Bangladesh. After working as a clinical research associate, he completed two years of general surgery residency, internal medicine residency and then fellowship in Gastroenterology from Montefiore Medical Center, Bronx, NY. During his specialization in Gastroenterology, he was awarded “Teaching Fellow of the Year” and for “Outstanding Achievement in the Teaching of Medical Students”. When asked about the principle of his patient care, Dr. Pandey says, “When I manage any patient, the first thing comes to my mind is that what I would do if the patient was my family member or friend. This conscience always drives me to provide the best possible treatment to all my patients”. His area of interests includes colon cancer prevention, Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), peptic ulcer disease, liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease and irregular bowel habit including diarrhea and constipation. Dr. Pandey is Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He enjoys spending his free time with family, playing with his two little kids, watching movies, listening music, and traveling.
