Edward J. Wolf, M.D., FACP, FACG, Gastroenterology

Dr. Edward Wolf received a B.A. from Columbia University and an M.D. from S.U.N.Y. Downstate, Magna Cum Laude. He completed the Internal Medicine residency program at the Bronx Municipal Hospital Center and went on to a fellowship in Gastroenterology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. His special interests in Gastroenterology include Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Colon Cancer Screening, Esophageal Disorders, Hepatitis and therapeutic endoscopy. Dr. Wolf is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and is also a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology as well as a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. Dr. Wolf is Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

Todd D. Heller, M.D., FACP, FACG, FASGE, Gastroenterology

Dr. Todd Heller is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Yeshiva University and its Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He did his Internal Medicine residency at Montefiore Hospital and his fellowship in Gastroenterology at St. Luke’s Hospital. Dr. Heller came to Baltimore to join Dr. Edward Wolf, forming what now is Woodholme Gastroenterology Associates. While enjoying all fields of Gastroenterology, Dr. Heller has a particular interest in inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis), interventional biliary endoscopy, and liver disease. A Fellow of the American College of Physicians,American College of Gastroenterology and American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, Dr. Heller is Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

Loc T. Le, M.D., FACG, Gastroenterology

Dr. Loc T. Le graduated from Union College in Schenectady, New York, Magna Cum Laude, with a degree in Mathematics and Biology. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in Rochester, New York. Dr. Le completed his internship and residency at the Sinai Hospital/Johns Hopkins Hospital Internal Medicine residency program. He did his Gastroenterology fellowship at the Medical College of Virginia where he received extensive training in therapeutic gastrointestinal endoscopy and hepatology. Dr. Le is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.  Dr. Le is Board Certified in Gastroenterology. Loc T. Le, MD has been elected as Chairperson of the 2012-2014 National Task Force on Hepatitis B: Focus on Asian and Pacific Islander Americans.  He is a former Chairman of the Division of Gastroenterology and Director of Endoscopy at Harbor Hospital of Baltimore (July 1998-July 2004). He held the ranks of Assistant Professor of Medicine, University of Maryland School of Medicine and was an instructor in Medicine, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. As a teaching faculty member at Sinai Hospital and Harbor  Hospital, he received the Golden Apple “Best Teacher of Year” Awards twice, in 1996 and 1998.

Michael S. Siuta, M.D., Gastroenterology

Dr. Michael Siuta was born and raised in Baltimore County. After graduating from the University of Virginia, he returned to Baltimore to attend the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He received his Doctor of Medicine and remained at University of Maryland Hospital for a residency in Internal Medicine. An additional year was spent on faculty in the Department of Medicine. Dr. Siuta completed a three-year fellowship in Gastroenterology at the Medical College of Virginia. In addition to training in gastroenterology and hepatology.  During his first year, he completed a fellowship in Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy and was the Chief Fellow. Dr. Siuta is a member of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the American Gastroenterological Association. Dr. Siuta is Board Certified in Gastroenterology. His professional interests include interventional biliary endoscopy, colorectal cancer pathogenesis, and gastroesophageal reflux disease.

Ernest Tsao, M.D., FACG, Gastroenterology

Dr. Tsao earned his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine. He completed an Internal Medicine internship and residency program at Stony Brook University Medical Center. He continued his training at Stony Brook with a fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Dr. Tsao is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Dr. Tsao is Board Certified in Gastroenterology. His research on gastrointestinal disorders has been published in peer-reviewed journals, and he is the recipient of several academic awards and honors. Dr. Tsao’s professional interests include colorectal cancer, upper digestive tract cancer, esophageal disorders, interventional biliary endoscopy and hepatology.

Steven Epstein, M.D., Gastroenterology

Dr. Steven Epstein was born and raised in Baltimore. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Union College in Schenectady, New York and received his M.D. degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Maryland and his Gastroenterology fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia where he received training in diagnostic and interventional endoscopy as well as hepatology. Dr. Epstein is a member of the American Gastroenterology Association, the American College of Gastroenterology, and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He is Board Certified in Gastroenterology. His special interests include inflammatory bowel disease, gastro-intestinal cancers, and therapeutic endoscopy.

Eric Blum, M.D., M.S., Gastroenterology

Dr. Eric Blum was born and raised in Pikesville, Maryland. He graduated with highest honors from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia and received his M.D. degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, followed by his Gastroenterology fellowship at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. While in Cleveland, Dr. Blum also received his M.S. in clinical research. Dr. Blum is a member of the American Gastroenterology Association, the American College of Gastroenterology, and the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America. He is Board Certified in Gastroenterology. His special interests include Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, and microscopic colitis (lymphocytic/collagenous colitis).

Kenolisa Onwueme, M.D., PhD Gastroenterology

Dr. Kenolisa (Keno) Onwueme draws on a broad analytical skill set developed over 15 years of life-sciences research and from clinical experience in varied environments. He graduated with Distinction from Yale University with dual BSc/MSc degrees in chemistry and received MD and PhD degrees from Weill Cornell Medical College. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Harvard Medical School’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital and then his Gastroenterology fellowship at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His scientific research has been recognized with numerous honors and publications. Dr. Onwueme prizes commitment to quality and compassionate patient care and has been commended by peers and patients alike for this attribute. He has expert knowledge in gut microbiology infections and special interests in diarrhea, constipation, disordered gut motility, autoimmune and inflammatory bowel disease. His professional memberships include: American Gastroenterology Association, American College of Gastroenterology, American Medical Association and The Global Health Council. Dr. Onwueme is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He co-founded Obala Foundation, a non-profit organization improving healthcare delivery in West Africa.

Elliot Schwarzenberger, M.D., Gastroenterology

Dr. Elliot Schwarzenberger joins our team from Queens, New York. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Yeshiva University graduating Magna Cum Laude. He obtained his M.D. degree at Stony Brook University School of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine internship and residency at Beth Israel Medical Center. He followed with a fellowship in Gastroenterology at Downstate Medical Center at Long Island College Hospital. His professional memberships include: American Gastroenterology Association, American College of Gastroenterology, and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Dr. Schwarzenberger is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. His interests include all areas of gastroenterology and hepatology. Of particular interest is hepatitis, inflammatory bowel disease and colon cancer prevention. In addition, much of his training was devoted to management of diarrhea and constipation. His research on complications of liver disease has been published in a peer-review journal.

Arjun Vaid, M.D., MRCP, AGAF, Gastroenterology

Dr. Arjun Vaid obtained his medical degree from the Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research, Pondicherry-one of the premier medical schools in India.  He trained in Internal Medicine at the South West St. George’s University Hospital Program in London, United Kingdom, and graduated as a Member of the Royal College of Physicians(MRCP).  After moving to the United States, he completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine through Tuft’s University School of Medicine, at Steward St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center.  On completion of his residency, he worked as a Chief Medical Resident for a year and was actively involved in medical education.  He then completed his fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. His interests include all areas of gastroenterology and hepatology with special emphasis on complications of liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease and colon cancer prevention. Apart from presentations in a number of national gastroenterology meetings, his research on artificial liver support systems has been published in a peer-reviewed journal. Dr. Vaid is a fellow of the American Gastroenterology Association, and a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, and The American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and is Board Certified in Gastroenterology.

Calvin Parker, III, M.D., Gastroenterology

Dr. Calvin Parker was born and raised in Baltimore, MD. He joins our team after serving honorably for 12 years as a physician for the US Army. He obtained his Bachelor’s of Science Degree from Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA. He earned his M.D. degree at the Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, DC, after which he was commissioned as an Officer in the US Army. Dr. Parker’s Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology/Hepatology fellowship training were done at Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Augusta, GA and Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX. In addition to general gastroenterology, he also received training in advanced endoscopic procedures in the field of interventional biliary endoscopy and has published several case reports. Dr. Parker is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology and the National Medical Association. Dr. Parker is Board Certified in Gastroenterology. His practice style revolves around a patient centered approach fostering the physician-patient partnership in the effort to preserve health and correct pathology. Dr. Parker’s professional interests include, but are not limited to, interventional biliary endoscopy, hepatology, inflammatory bowel disease, colorectal cancer, and esophageal disorders.

Jeffrey Schwartz, M.D. Gastroenterology

Dr. H. Jeffrey Schwartz graduated from Amherst College and New York University School of Medicine. He completed an internship, residency and gastroenterology fellowship at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore. Dr. Schwartz is Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. His professional organizations include the American Medical Association, the American College of Physicians, and the American College of Gastroenterology.

Aminat Oluyemi, M.D. Gastroenterology

Dr. Oluyemi graduated from University of Maryland College Park with a Bachelor’s of Science in Neurobiology and Physiology. She earned her Medical Degree from University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey – Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. She completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Maryland Medical Center and spent an additional year on faculty in the Department of Medicine. Dr. Oluyemi completed her fellowship in Gastroenterology at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. Her interests include all of gastroenterology and hepatology. She has special interests in colon cancer prevention, inflammatory bowel disease, esophageal disorders and liver disease. She is a member of the American Gastroenterology Association and the American College of Gastroenterology. Dr. Oluyemi is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

Agazi Gebreselassie, M.D. Gastroenterology

Dr. Agazi Gebreselassie obtained his medical degree from Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia. He trained in internal medicine at Howard University Hospital. He then worked as an internist at Johns Hopkins Community Physicians. He completed his fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Howard University Hospital. He then pursued a training in advanced/therapeutic endoscopy at Virginia Tech Carilion Clinic. His interests include all areas of gastroenterology including colon cancer prevention, complications of liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease, Barrett’s esophagus, therapeutic endoscopy, luminal dilation and stenting, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography and endoscopic ultrasonography. Dr. Gebreselassie is a member of the American Gastroenterology Association, The American College of Gastroenterology and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and is Board Certified in Gastroenterology.

Damodar Pandey, M.D. Gastroenterology

Dr. Damodar Pandey was born in the beautiful Himalayan country, Nepal, and completed his medical school from Rangpur Medical College (Rajshahi University), Bangladesh. After working as a clinical research associate, he completed two years of general surgery residency, internal medicine residency and then fellowship in Gastroenterology from Montefiore Medical Center, Bronx, NY. During his specialization in Gastroenterology, he was awarded “Teaching Fellow of the Year” and for “Outstanding Achievement in the Teaching of Medical Students”. When asked about the principle of his patient care, Dr. Pandey says, “When I manage any patient, the first thing comes to my mind is that what I would do if the patient was my family member or friend. This conscience always drives me to provide the best possible treatment to all my patients”. His area of interests includes colon cancer prevention, Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), peptic ulcer disease, liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease and irregular bowel habit including diarrhea and constipation. Dr. Pandey is Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He enjoys spending his free time with family, playing with his two little kids, watching movies, listening music, and traveling.

Lila Tarmin, M.D., FACG, AGAF, Gastroenterology – (Retired as of 12/31/24)

Dr. Lila Tarmin graduated from Barnard College and Georgetown Medical School. She completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Georgetown University Hospital and a fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Maryland. Dr. Tarmin’s research in gastro-intestinal oncology and inflammatory bowel disease has appeared in a number of professional journals. She has a personal interest in colon cancer screening, irritable bowel syndrome and treatment of obesity. A Fellow of the American College of Physicians, Dr. Tarmin is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

Inna E. Bardoff, CRNP

Inna Bardoff, CRNP received her BS in Community Health from The University of Maryland, College Park.  She obtained her Master of Science and RN licensure after completing studies at The University of Maryland School of Nursing.  She earned her Masters in Nursing from The George Washington School of Nursing and is a Certified Adult Nurse Practitioner. Mrs. Bardoff is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

Denese A. Gaughan, CRNP

Denese Gaughan, CRNP received a BS in Nursing from University of Maryland. She went on to earn her Masters in Nursing degree from University of Maryland School of Medicine Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program.

Cherish S. Hannah, PA-C

Cherish Hannah, PA-C, received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from University of Maryland Baltimore County. She went on to obtain a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She is a Board-Certified Physician Assistant and a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.

Keyonna M. Holmes, CRNP

Keyonna M. Holmes was born and raised in Staten Island, New York.  She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing degree from Coppin State University. She is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She has served in many roles throughout her nursing career such as: Unit Manager, Charge Nurse, Nursing Supervisor and Preceptor. She has an extensive background in Long-term care and Medical-surgical nursing that has afforded her many skills. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

Ninna Nana, PA-C, received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Towson University in Towson, Maryland. She went on to obtain a Master of Physician Assistant Practice degree from Campbell University in North Carolina. She is a Certified Physician Assistant and a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.

Zeev Nemirovsky, CRNP

Zeev Nemirovsky, CRNP received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Towson University. He earned his Master of Science in Nursing from York College of Pennsylvania and is a Certified Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner.

Jocelyn Niemkiewicz, PA-C

Jocelyn Niemkiewicz, PA-C received her BA of Health Science from Saint Francis University. She went on to continue her education there and received her Masters of Physician Assistant degree.

James D. Shaffer, PA-C

James D. Shaffer, PA-C received a BA from Pennsylvania State University. He continued his education at Lock Haven University in Pennsylvania, earning a Masters of Health Science Degree and a certificate as a Physician Assistant. He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA).

Rhonda J. Waldron, BSN, RN

Rhonda J. Waldron received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center.  The beginning of her career consisted of both hospital and clinic based patient care. Rhonda also has an extensive background in healthcare administration of both hospital and private practice settings.
