Dr. April Tignor received her medical degree from Cornell University Medical College and completed internal medicine residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Cornell. She proceeded to complete fellowship training in gastroenterology and hepatology at Harvard Medical School/Brigham and Women’s Hospital where she was also a clinical fellow. She concurrently received a Masters in Public Health with a focus in Clinical Effectiveness from the Harvard School of Public Health. A Maryland native, Dr. Tignor returned to Maryland to complete advanced gastroenterology training in endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) at the Johns Hopkins Hospital where she also served on faculty as Instructor in the gastroenterology division. Dr. Tignor is board certified in Internal medicine, Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Her areas of clinical expertise include but are not limited to, the diagnosis and management of gastroenterology disorders and liver disease, colon cancer diagnosis and prevention, management and diagnosis of Inflammatory bowel disease, Irritable Bowel syndrome, Esophageal and digestive disorders, disorders of gut motility, and pancreatic diseases. She has expertise in diagnostic and therapeutic upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, enteroscopy, small bowel capsule endoscopy; endoscopic ultrasound, and fibroscan interpretation.
