Dr. Arjun Vaid obtained his medical degree from the Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research, Pondicherry-one of the premier medical schools in India. He trained in Internal Medicine at the South West St. George’s University Hospital Program in London, United Kingdom, and graduated as a Member of the Royal College of Physicians(MRCP). After moving to the United States, he completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine through Tuft’s University School of Medicine, at Steward St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center. On completion of his residency, he worked as a Chief Medical Resident for a year and was actively involved in medical education. He then completed his fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. His interests include all areas of gastroenterology and hepatology with special emphasis on complications of liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease and colon cancer prevention. Apart from presentations in a number of national gastroenterology meetings, his research on artificial liver support systems has been published in a peer-reviewed journal. Dr. Vaid is a member of the American Gastroenterology Association, the American College of Gastroenterology, and The American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and is Board Certified in Gastroenterology.
